Five days and counting

There are five days left until the beginning of blimp season the Red Sox home opener. In eager anticipation of this monumental day, I thought I would devote a new blog entirely to my obsession with blimps -- in particular the Hood Blimp. Check back over the next five days for various blimp-related articles and photos.

The 2006-2007 Red Sox schedule is available here. Dates in red denote blimp presence home games.

If any of my readers wants to donate a camera with a decent zoom lens to my cause, I'd be most grateful. Regardless, there will be blimp photos here once the season starts. Whether the blimp will be identifiable on the days I can't get all the way down to the park during game time is still up in the air. (Get it?)

I'll play! For the last two seasons, the blimp has been moored at Beverly Airport. I'll try to remember to bring my camera on the days I'm near it.

Yep, Beverly for the past 2 years.

Before that, it was somewhere in...I wanna say Danvers? It used to fly right past my office window on Canal Street on the way to the games, which is what started the whole blimp obsession.

I'll post any pics you want to send me. The more the better!

Do the Goodyear and Fuji blimps ever show up around Fenway?
