Hood is donating $100,000 to the Red Sox Foundation between 6:30 and 6:45 p.m. tonight at Fenway, prior to the start of the Red Sox/Yankees game. The check presentation is part of the campaign Hood launched at the start of the summer to acknowledge Hood’s long-standing relationship with the Red Sox.
Additionally, this is the last week for the Hood Blimp Spotting contest, another element of the campaign, where fans can upload photos of the Hood Blimp to Twitter using the #hoodblimp hashtag or to the tab on Hood’s Facebook page. At the end of this week Hood will be choosing a winner for the grand prize: a ride in the iconic Hood Blimp. The Blimp is scheduled to be over the game tonight, giving fans a great chance to enter the contest.

#LookUp for a once-in-a-lifetime view
NEW YORK, NY—September 4, 2012 – Van Wagner Airship Group is proud to announce a historic event to take place Thursday, September 6 at 9:00 a.m.
WHAT: A fleet of four blimps led by a Van Wagner banner-towing plane will take center stage in a majestic blimp parade along the Hudson River, traveling from the Verrazano Bridge to the George Washington Bridge.
WHO: The participants include the MetLife Snoopy blimp, the DirecTV Starship blimp, the HP Hood blimp and the Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey blimp.
WHEN: Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 9:00 a.m.
WHY: This is a “blue moon” event, as multiple blimps rarely fly together in the same city at the same time. The view of four blimps, following a special airplane announcing and leading the parade will truly be a magnificent scene against the breathtaking Manhattan skyline. Follow the blimp parade on Twitter using #LookUp.
